48 Students Received Wings At GGIFA Graduation Ceremony

Bintulu based and Sarawak first aviation college Gulf Golden Flying Academy (GGIFA) awarded 48 students their wings at a graduation ceremony held at Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) Auditorium yesterday.

Taib also reminded the students not to waste the golden opportunity afforded by the college.
“It’s not easy to set up a college such as GGIFA as it requires a lot of money, wide ranges of knowledge and firm commitment,” said Taib.
The recipients of the wings at yesterday graduation ceremony were those who had acquired the Private Pilot License (PPL).
In his speech, GGIFA executive chairman Datuk Morshidi Abdul Rahman said there were currently 135 cadet pilots doing various training stages.
Despite still at its infancy, the college had attracted a number of foreign students from countries such as Sri Lanka, Iran, Iraq and Brunei.
Morshidi also said, once the new RM120 million campus which can accommodate at least 800 students, staff housing completed they hope to attract more students – especially from countries such as China and India.
GGIFA college expected to train 300 cadet pilots and 500 technical and engineering students per year in the new campus, according to Morshidi.
“We are in the final stage of acquiring a 10-acres land near the present college from a company,” said Morshidi.
